Moles win opening shoot-out

Points gallore at the Moles Hill where MoRe's Moles first blew a 17-point second-quarter lead and then came back from a 7-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat silentsound's Silentknights 47-45.

The Moles RBs ran for 372 yds and four TDs. Their offense produced three TD plays for 60 yds or longer against a do-or-die defense that forced four turnovers but also allowed the Moles 524 yds on total offense.

The 'Knights got scores from each unit as they had an interception return and a 99-yd kickoff return for TDs as they closed the gap to the minimum at halftime after trailing by 17 in the middle of the second quarter.

They took the lead for the first time on a 3-yd TD run with a little more than eleven minutes left to play. The Moles struck back with a 60-yd TD run on their next play from scrimmage but then missed the extra point.

When they recovered a Moles' fumble and got the ball at the opponent's 44-yd line, they looked like the sure winners. But two plays later, the Moles got the ball back on an interception and then drove to a 24-yd field goal to win it in the final second of the game.
